FENG SHUI YOUR BEDROOM FOR A PEACEFUL NIGHTS SLEEP

October 21, 2013

In today's busy world many people suffer from insomnia including children and teenagers and do not understand why.  They believe they are eating well and exercising regularly yet at the end of the day find it difficult to sleep through the night.

Your bedroom should be a sanctuary for sleeping and relaxing not used as a multi-function room.  It is not uncommon to see televisions, computers, work related materials, dirty clothes and even exercise equipment kept in a bedroom and wonder why they can't sleep.

Follow these simple Feng Shui tips to help improve your sleep:

  • Place your bed against a solid wall with a bedhead.

  • Do not have your feet in direct line to a doorway.

  • Have your bed easily approachable from both sides.

  • Keep your bedroom well ventilated and open a window during the day.

  • Remove all electronic equipment including computers and televisions. I know this is a big one for a lot of people, but it is well worth it!

  • Remove mirrors out of the bedroom as they cause disturbed sleep. and restlessness.  Mirrors can also encourage a third party into the relationship.

  • Remove dirty clothes piled up on the floor as this causes stagnant energy.

  • Do not store books or toys under children's beds as this causes an overactive mind.

  • Keep the colours in the bedroom soothing.  Skin tones are best.

  • For a couple's bedroom place happy photos of the couple and keep other family members photos out in the family area of the home.

  • Water features including pictures of water need to be removed.

  • Place your pillows out in the sunshine once a week so they can absorb the sun's yang energy.

Wishing you a restful nights sleep.
